A pub in Co Laois flooded after heavy rain, but that didn't stop the regulars having a pint

It’ll take more than that to keep them away.

IT WAS TRULY rotten out yesterday – so much so that many parts of the country were badly affected by flooding.

One of the worst-hit areas was the town of Mountmellick in Co Laois, with dozens of families evacuated from their homes after three rivers burst their banks.

Despite all this, local pub Dowling’s remained open for business – and the regulars were in for their pints.

You couldn’t expect a bit of water to stop them, now could you?

As the staff wrote on the pub’s Facebook page:

We are open but you need wellies
