ENO MFON IS an actress and theatre maker who just graduated from University of Bristol.
Earlier this year, she performed a piece called Check The Label in Bristol Old Vic to rapturous reviews. This week, she finally graduated and to celebrate, she posted an amazing photo on Instagram addressing one of her head lecturers.
When you’re the only black kid on your course and one of the head lecturers tells you there’s no space for black theatre makers on the curriculum so you spend three years learning about Chekhov and Carol Ann Duffy but then realise that you cn write your own stuff for lil black girls and so you do that, and sell out the Bristol Old Vic and the lecturer that told you there’s no space for you, pays to watch you perform.
The photo and caption has since been gone mega viral on Twitter with many congratulating Mfon for breaking down barriers and proving her lecturer wrong.
As Beyoncé said, “Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.”
