A group of friends in Dublin came up with an ingeniously lazy way of collecting their takeaway

Go to the door? No thank you.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE a ~thing~ about collecting their takeaway from the door – so much so that Domino’s even based this year’s April Fool on the very same concept.

For this demographic, going all the way down to the door takes out much of the convenience you’re supposed to be enjoying by getting a takeaway in the first place.

So Steve O’Donnell and his friends came up with a solution last night

Lowering the makeshift rope down to the Deliveroo driver below, they successfully made the cash/food exchange

Steve tells DailyEdge.ie how it came about:

We just thought it would be a fun way to brighten up the Deliveroo driver’s day! We tipped him on the app but left a chocolate Easter bunny in the bag too for being a good sport. Safe to say it went down well with the crowd enjoying themselves in the sun by the canal!

Deliveroo have been in touch to reward him for such takeaway ingenuity.

Said crowd on the canal were indeed loving it, and a round of applause followed

And they were spotted on camera too

Steve, who works at All Out Design, used his professional nous to fashion the rope from things lying around the gaff:

It was made from a collection of random items from the apartment. Some bunting, the rope from a robe, some curtain tie backs and a scarf!

A professional job to the very end.
