And so it was when Dublin-based graphic designer Maxi McDonnell was entrusted with minding his colleague’s house plant for a few weeks.
He couldn’t resist giving it a Sideshow Bob makeover
Excellent work.
He tells DailyEdge.ie how this ingenious creation came about:
One of my colleagues was going to the states for 3 weeks and asked me would I look after his plant. I thought he was messing then the next morning a big hairy fern arrived on my desk. After 20 long minutes alone with my new ferny friend I decided I was bored with it and reckoned it could do with a makeover, and with that Sideshow Bob was born.

It hit the top of the popular Simpsons subreddit last night, as well as /r/Ireland too.
And the top comment had the perfect suggestion that could only make it better:
“Scatter a couple of little rakes next to it, too”
When the colleague arrives back from holiday, let’s hope they’re a Simpsons fan. Such work needs all the appreciation it can get.
