WHAT A DAY for it.
People started gathering in Dublin city centre at midday for the Pride Parade – and it was a joyous, raucous occasion as the floats made their way from Stephen’s Green to Smithfield Square.
1. It started with the Google Map of Dublin displaying the route for everyone to see in full colour
2. And the weather held out… and turned into a fine day for a parade
3. Papa Don’t Preach blared through the streets of Christchurch
4. As the crowds lined the streets
5. Some people could get a second use out of their brilliant signs
6. The effort that went into some of the floats <3
7. It was just the most vibrant day
8. There were pride pooches out and about
9. And the flags on the quays were flying high
10. A+ for effort, everyone
11. There was appropriate political signage on show too
12. Rainbows, everywhere
13. The Gardaí were getting in on the face painting
14. So many people marching needed some traffic control
15. It’s Raining Men was sung with joyous enthusiasm
16. This guy popped up fully decked out
17. And it wouldn’t be Pride without The George’s lorry
The final destination was Smithfield Square – and that was suitably buzzing for those arriving
And the night is only getting started.
