A Dublin woman fell asleep on her way to work and woke up in the 'Luas wash'

THIS IS NOT your run-of-the-mill Luas commuting nightmare. Not by a long shot.

Dublin woman Aoife Kelly got on the Luas this morning at Balally, and ended up getting off with quite the anecdote to tell:

She fell asleep just after getting on and woke up in the middle of the Luas getting washed at the depot

So THAT’S where it goes after it’s everyone’s got off.

Aoife told DailyEdge.ie about her unexpectedly epic Luas odyssey this morning:

I got on at Balally to go to work, but I hadn’t had much sleep the night before so nodded off within minutes. I woke up at the Sandyford depot to the sound of a Luas maintenance guy waving and banging on the window beside me. I’d no clue what was going on!

But the wait was far from over:

I spotted that the driver was still there so got his attention and asked if I could get out but we had to wait for the Luas to go through the washer. I was about 15 minutes waiting before I could get out. I was lucky I wasn’t stuck there longer!

As she wrote on Facebook, waking up in the “Luas wash” was a disastrous start to a Monday morning

Think of the poor driver as well – they must have missed Aoife having a nap behind:

I think I was slumped over sleeping so he missed me! I gave him some fright when I tapped on the driver door!

All’s well that ended well, and now she has a decent story to tell about that one morning she fell asleep on the Luas.
