THE INTERNET CAN be a bleak place sometimes. It can show us the worst sides of humanity and make us question why we ever signed up for a Twitter account in the first place.
And then occasionally you’re reminded that the world isn’t such a bad place after all. This was a moment I experienced recently when I came across the Twitter account of ‘Duck of the Day’.

The concept, as you can imagine is very simple.
Each day, the account posts a picture of a (very, very, very) cute duck or goose for us to oooh and ahhh and basically delight over.
Think about it. For one tweet a day, you can avoid the fascism, racism, transphobia and every other bad aspect of Twitter to spend five minutes looking at a picture of a really cute animal and give yourself a break from the terrible world that we live in.
Here are some of the finest examples from the past month.

The account is truly the gift to your timeline that you deserve. Plus it had the extra benefit of making geese look cute which as we all know can be a tough thing to do if you had a particularly nasty run-in with a goose as a child.
Like, come on, how could you resist a face like this now?

That’s right, you can’t. Accept it.
So if you need a daily dose of duck (which you absolutely do) then you can follow ‘Duck of the Day’ on Twitter.
You won’t regret it.
