IF YOU’VE EVER visited Dun Laoghaire, then chances are you’ve darkened the door of Dun Leary’s Last Corner Shop, a slightly hectic newsagents and local institution.
It’s known for its ace offers…
For being open very, very late…
And for stocking newspapers from all over the country and the world. We mean everything from The Angl0-Celt to Der Spiegel.
Yesterday, Humans of Dublin shared a photo of Dun Leary’s Last Corner Shop’s owner, John Hyland, who explained why he loved his job.
There are two things I really love; reading newspapers and talking to people. I consider myself a lucky fella I’ve been doing what I love since 1971!
It’s the little things, right?
The photo has received over 2,600 likes. Locals have taken to the comments to pay tribute to Hyland with many describing him as a “legend” and an “institution”.
Wonderful.
You know where to visit next time you’re in Dun Laoghaire, so.
