WE’RE ALL FAMILIAR with the Cronut now, right?

And by familiar we mean, ‘have salivated over it at length while feeling miserable about the fact that it’s unlikely we’ll get to eat one any time soon.’

Well, now there is a new delicacy on the block, and it’s a lot less fancy and a lot more widely available.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich is comprised of a glazed donut encasing slices of bacon with a pepper fried egg.

Sound appealing?  You must have had a big weekend.  (SO DID WE.)

You can read all about the creation of this unique sandwich here if you’d like, but this is definitely the best part.

The glazed donut is light and fluffy and gives you just the right amount of sweetness. Combined with the lightly salted, smoked bacon, the texture and flavors marry together in a wonderful way. It’s a delicious bite of the perfect harmonization of sweet and savory flavors.

OH YES.  It’s almost poetic.

Here’s what one looks like in real life.  It’s not quite as appealing, but we’d still give it a good go.

Unfortunately there are no more Dunkin’ Donuts in Ireland, so we’ll have to travel to sample the Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich.
