LAST MONTH DWAYNE ‘The Rock’ Johnson opened up about his battle with depression saying that times he was ‘crying constantly’.
Got tons of responses to this. Thank you. We all go thru the sludge/shit and depression never discriminates. Took me a long time to realize it but the key is to not be afraid to open up. Especially us dudes have a tendency to keep it in. You’re not alone

It was brave and something which a lot of people weren’t expecting given that the Rock is who he is. He’s been speaking more about the effect that opening up about his problems has had to Ross King of the Lorraine show while promoting his new movie ‘Skyscraper’.
King was making the point that Dwayne coming out was inspirational but noted that Dwayne had to be clever about how he used his voice because he has such a platform.
It was pretty moving. Depression doesn’t discriminate. That was the important bit of the narrative that I was going to share if I was going to share my story of the past is that regardless of who you are or what you do for a living or where you come from, it doesn’t discriminate.
He also spoke how it was important for him to speak out to normalise more for men in general.
There’s a wiring in us and a constitution that oftentimes doesn’t let us talk about it. We’re scared or vulnerable about things like that and it’s what been deemed as toxic masculinity. You gotta talk about it, you’re not alone.’
Dwayne also had some time to chat about the Royal Wedding saying that he found the whole thing lovely.
It’s perfect. when you think about it. From what I’ve heard, how they met and when she was younger she’d fantasize about being a princess one day. It’s very cool’
He also said that when he was younger he also fantasized about being a princess. I guess he’ll just have to settle for being the Tooth Fairy.
