Ebola-shaped plush toys exist, and they have completely sold out
A US TOY company has sold out of a range of plush toys shaped like the deadly disease currently spreading across the globe.
Giant Microbes, based in Connecticut, make plush toys of various diseases in an effort to make them ‘cute’ and easy to learn about.
Of their Ebola teddy, they say:
They also offer buyers the chance to “learn all about this fearsome frontpage disease” and claim it’s a great “teaching tool for students of all ages”.
The vice president of marketing told the Toronto Star that the demand for the virus has gone way up since the recent outbreak, but they’re moving “as fast as they can” to produce more.
Also available, are a petri dish and a ‘giant’ version of the toy.

The company don’t see the plush as inappropriate at all, claiming they haven’t received any negative feedback as of yet.
You can’t get Ebola at the moment, but you can still pick up herpes, black death and cholera. Sound.
