The presenter who called Ed Sheeran 'a boring suck-up' has done a 180, and we're confused
AT THE BEGINNING of this month, Hayley Holt made global headlines after she slated Ed Sheeran during a segment on a New Zealand morning show, TVNZ Breakfast.
Hayley and her co-stars were discussing the fact the city of Dunedin would soon be playing host to an enormous mural of Ed Sheeran – something Hayley wasn’t here for.
Sounding like she had forgotten she was live on air, Hayley went off on one.
In the weeks that followed Hayley’s outburst, Ed surprisingly said he had no issue with her remarks.
So, the saga ended there, right? Wrong.
On Sunday, Ed appeared on stage wearing an All Blacks shirt, with Hayley’s name emblazoned across the back – an image which Hayley subsequently shared on her Instagram page yesterday.
And today Hayley took her seat on set wearing a T-shirt which paid tribute to Ed himself.
Unsurprisingly, Hayley’s colleagues were only mad to call her out, accusing her of backtracking massively.
Laying it on extra thick during her assessment of Ed’s diplomatic response to her remarks, Hayley said: “He’s a legend and he doesn’t need everyone fawning all over him.”
Make up your mind, Holt.
