The Billboard Music Awards streamed part of Ed Sheeran's Dublin gig to the audience to make up for the fact that he wasn't there
ED SHEERAN WAS nominated for 15 awards at the Billboard Music Awards last night. He walked away with 6 of them including ‘Best Male Artist’ and ‘Best Artist’ in general so it wasn’t a bad night for Ed.
Since he’s been touring in Ireland for the past little while and only finished up on Saturday, he wasn’t in Las Vegas to pick up the award. Instead Billboard recorded his performance of ‘Galway Girl’ in the Phoenix Park and streamed it for the audience. A novel idea.

Fair play to Ed who managed to get nearly every single traditional Irish instrument into that performance which is no mean feat.
Anyway people were delighted with the performance even if it was quite live in Las Vegas.
Although many seemed convinced it was live rather than a pre-recorded piece.
Ah sure, no harm. Ed was only delighted to win ‘Best Artist’ and said since he was in Dublin, he’d celebrate the achievement by having a Guinness. Between that and the performance, I think we’ve got every Irishism ever created into the Billboards. Another fine achievement for all involved.
Fair play to Ed though and fair play to the crowd who were giving ‘Galway Girl’ everything in that performance. You did us proud.
