ED SHEERAN CAUSED chaos in Galway on Monday night when he was spotted filming the music video for Galway Girl.
Yeah, you know, THAT song.
We might have to wait a while to see it in full, but here’s what we’ve sneakily uncovered so far.
1. It’s going to have some sort of flashback to his old Shop Street busking days
Ed included footage of him busking as a teen outside the Treasure Chest in his Photograph video.

Judging by the scenes outside that very shop, there’ll be a flashback of sorts to his pre-fame days.

An actor is playing the man himself, but Ed was on site so potentially ‘visits’ his old self.
2. There’ll be scenes inside a pub
O’connor’s pub in Salthill, to be specific.

It looks VERY Irish inside. Expect a lot of Irish dancing.
The inspiration for the original Galway Girl is also, bizarrely, tipped to feature.
How did he find out who she is? Who knows. Her identity is a bit of a mystery.
Sharon Shannon told 2fm a couple of years ago that it was a trad musician.
Steve wrote the song in Galway. He used to spend a lot of time there, just hanging out and writing songs and going to trad sessions. He made great friends with all the musicians there.
We know who the girl is. I think Steve would like to have had a romantic liaison with her. She’s a great friend of ours but she doesn’t trade on it. She doesn’t want people to know.

5. Prepare for LOTS of Irish dancing
Ed put out a call for Irish dancers back in January to appear in the video, so we can expect this went ahead. We can imagine them all now, dancing on the tables in O’Connors. Hiddildy!
6. He’s wearing some kind of go-pro camera while filming
What does this tell us? If we had to WILDLY SPECULATE, we’d say we’ll see a good bit of the video from Ed’s perspective. Looking back on his old self, meeting the Galway Girl etc. Either that, or he’s just taken on the job of cameraman.
7. He originally wanted to film it in Dublin
He told 98fm that minds were changed as it might get “a bit dangerous” and would cost a fortune.
8. Soairse Ronan will appear in it, maybe as his Galway Girl
