Ed Sheeran says he loves 'everything Jeremy Corbyn is about'

He’s not the only one.

SINGER M.I.A. ONCE called Jeremy Corbyn the “princess Diana of British politics”, saying that now and again, a politician that seems like a real human arrives “and the establishment freaks out.”

It’s safe to say that she’s among many celebs who are quite fond of Corbyn.

Everyone from Charlotte Church to Stormzy and JME (and plenty of their fans – 58% of which voted for the Labour leader in the last UK general election) can appreciate the 68-year-old politician.

Everyone, apart from Noel Gallagher, who recently said “f**k Jeremy Corbyn” before calling Jeremy a communist.

Ed Sheeran is the latest celebrity to gush about Jeremy Corbyn and what he stands for.

The 26-year-old singer praised Jeremy Corbyn for his inclusive views, explaining that Corbyn “cares about all.”

I love Corbyn. I love everything Corbyn is about. And I feel people thought that, because I didn’t put myself behind him, I wasn’t a Corbyn supporter. If you knew me as a person, and listened to my music, you would be able to make a pretty educated guess that he would be the kind of person I really dig.

Sheeran continued to praise Jezza in the Sunday Times piece:

He cares about other people. He cares about all classes, all races and generations and that’s how I was brought up. We need more people that care about everyone.

However, Ed also said that he doesn’t like mixing politics and music, claiming that fans aren’t interested in that. JME and Stormzy’s fans would probably say otherwise.

I have political views but nobody buys my records going, ‘I wonder what he thinks about politics?’ Nobody.

Sheeran’s probably underestimating his fan base.

However he insisted:

People buy my records to put on while they make out. I’m not Mr Political. I vote the way I feel I should but won’t tell somebody else what to do.

Are people really buying Ed Sheeran’s music for romantic purposes?
