IRELAND’S PETROL STATIONS are getting increasingly impressive (Barack Obama Plaza, anyone?), and now there’s a new swanky option being added to forecourts around the country.
Topaz has announced that Eddie Rockets branches are being added to 40 of its petrol stations.
In fact, there’s one already at the Topaz in Douglas in Cork. The lucky beggars.
The fast food chain, famed for its frankly dazzling array of burger choices, cheese-covered chips and milkshakes, will open at petrol stations at Dublin Port and in Brennanstown in Wicklow by the end of the year, and at 15 more locations in 2016.
Eddie’s lovers are being assured that all the food will be made fresh on site and an extensive menu will be available.
We’re not 100% convinced that a quarter pounder is suitable for consumption while you’re pelting down the N7 though, so eat-in options will be essential. Although there are promises that “unique and portable” meals will also be available.
Topaz is investing €11.4 milllion in the Eddie Rockets upgrade.
