KFC invents dream edible coffee cup made of sugar and heaven

It’s just in the UK though so far – and it’s called the Scoff-ee Cup.

FOOD INNOVATIONS KEEP pushing the envelope of what is possible – but KFC’s latest brainwave is up there with the strangest we’ve heard.

The noted purveyors of fried chicken are introducing the Seattle’s Best Coffee brand into their stores in the UK, and to coincide with this they have invented a new edible cup to put it in:

The cup consists of biscuit wrapped in sugar paper that is lined with heat-resistant white chocolate. As the chocolate slowly melts, the biscuit will soften but crucially not break apart until you bite it off.

The cup – delightfully named the Scoff-ee Cup – was put together by KFC in partnership with a food science company called The Robin Collective – according to The Consumerist with a member of the Collective commenting:

Not only do the edible cups taste amazing, but they smell delicious too. We’ve infused different cups with a variety of ambient aromas including Coconut Sun Cream, Freshly Cut Grass and Wild Flowers.

The cups are set to be in selected UK stores later this year, according to The Telegraph – and if the test market goes well they will presumably be rolled out across the whole UK.

No word on their arrival to Ireland yet, but could you imagine such a development? Coffee + white chocolate + biscuit =
