Edinburgh's new trams are officially using a safety message from Father Ted

EDINBURGH IS GETTING a spanking new tram system to bring people around the Scottish capital. (It looks a LOT like the Luas.)

And during the testing, they’re encouraging people in the city to be extra mindful of trams. With the hashtag #CAREFULNOW.

And yes, the tram company has confirmed that the safety message is officially inspired by Father Ted.

The Edinburgh News reported on the message:

Tram bosses hope the catchphrase, from an episode of Channel 4’s Father Ted, will take off on Twitter, helping them get their message out while generating a feelgood factor.

Let’s just hope the tram company are being very choosy about their drivers.
