It looks like those Electric Picnic lineup 'announcements' are bogus
TWEETS STARTED FLYING around the internet yesterday after gig listing app Bandsintown started displaying bands who have apparently scheduled gigs for Stradbally this year.
Bjork, Warpaint, The Strypes and the Arctic Monkeys are all appearing on the app as having dates scheduled for August 31 in Stradbally Hall.
Alas, it appears the excitement is premature. DailyEdge.ie got in touch with the organisers of Electric Picnic who told us that the festival is still in the process of being booked, and that no information on the line-up has been released yet.
They also indicated that it was highly unlikely that a band who had headlined the previous year would be back again.
Taking that into account, as well as the fact that the bands listed played the festival last year (with Bjork and the Arctic Monkeys headlining), it seems unlikely that this is true insight as to what we can expect come the end of August.
The waiting game continues!
