IT’S SAFE TO say that this World Cup has been full of twists and turns already. We lost current world champions Germany in the group stages while Spain exited stage left yesterday as they lost on penalties to Russia. This of course is all good news for England.
I'm worried what terrible teams doing well in the World Cup means for England

With some of the big guns dropping out early, England fans seem to be getting excited and figure they could be on course to win the World Cup. All they have to do is get over the tiny hurdle that is Colombia who are actually rather good.
Can’t believe that all England need to do to get to the World Cup final is beat one of the best & most exciting teams in the world and then a bunch of sides that have beaten the ones we wanted to avoid.

Despite the fact that Colombia are rather good, the belief that some England fans have in their team won’t be shaken.

We will never get a better chance to make the World Cup final in my lifetime, so let’s take the opportunity #avfc #england

If any of you people out there actually believe the World Cup is going to any country other than England, then I would just like to whole heartedly let you know that I feel sorry for you. Must be hard living a life as delusional as that

Naturally though, Irish football fans and Irish people in general aren’t sharing the enthusiasm.
can’t believe gary neville is talking about a world cup semi final after england just lost to belgium B. colombia so much more dangerous than japan. best of luck with that

i do not care who wins the world cup as long as its not england, and england losing embarrassingly would be an added bonus

Thrilled for England after their big win in the #WorldCup today. If there's one country that needs a boost to their national self-belief and self-assessed rank in global affairs, it's definitely them.

The draw opening up has at least guaranteed England's exit will be memorable, can't wait to see how they do it

Now just get England out and it’s a great WC

What a World Cup so far. Just England to be knocked out on Tuesday and happy for anyone else to win it 😂

England will play Colombia on Tuesday at 7pm where we as nation will hold our breath to see whether or not England’s arrogance has yet again gotten out of control.
Penalties anyone?
