OVER THE WEEKEND, a Facebook post by a man called Eoin Mulligan was shared widely, receiving over 422,000 views.
He was sharing the moment he gave the gift of a brand new Everton jersey to a long-term customer who regularly visited him in the Supermac’s branch that he works in.
He told DailyEdge.ie that the customer, whose name is Francis, is mad about Everton Football Club – a trait that they share.
He comes down to me every day I work there, and we discuss the goings on of the football world mainly about how much we love Everton football club. So I just thought it would be a great surprise for him.
Francis dropping in to visit him is ‘the highlight of his day’, he’s always ‘full of beans with a smile on his face‘.
So Eoin decided to try and brighten up Francis’ day for once.
He shared a video of Francis opening the surprise gift to Facebook and it wasn’t long before Everton FC noticed and shared it to their own profile.
Now Everton FC and Supermac’s have arranged a special trip for the two men.
This week they’re flying Eoin and Francis over to visit Everton’s home grounds Goodison Park on Thursday to watch Everton play against Hajduk Split.
They’ll be putting them up in a hotel and arranging dinner for the pair.
Eoin went to tell Francis about the surprise and decided to film it and share his reaction again.

Before he had even told Francis about their trip, he was greeted by Francis kissing his new jersey and saying that he loves it so much.
Francis was totally over the moon with the jersey, even a day after Eoin had given it to him.
Then Eoin told him the news. The two of them are going to Goodison Park to meet Francis’ favourite player – Wayne Rooney (and the rest of the team, of course).
Francis was pretty chuffed.
Excellent work by all involved.
