Essence are discontinuing a bunch of cult products - here's 5 you should grab before it's too late
ESSENCE HAS ESTABLISHED a bit of a cult status here in Ireland.
Unsurprising, really – it’s affordable, good quality and sold in the fashion Mecca of Penneys.
They’re gearing up for a new launch featuring some very intriguing base products. But, as Essence giveth, Essence must taketh away.
DramaticMac broke the news in one of her latest vlogs that Essence seems to be discontinuing a lot of products to make way for the new line.

Devastated doesn’t cover it TBH.
DailyEdge.ie has reached out to Essence to clarify whether the products are definitely being discontinued, or whether they are simply being repackaged.
Here’s five products we suggest on stocking up on just in case:
1. Essence Liquid Ink liquid eyeliner
This hero product is a particular fave of DramaticMac’s, and many others across Ireland. This is a super pigmented, opaque black liner that has gotten me through many an Electric Picnic without reapplication. This will be sorely missed from the collection if it does depart.
2. Essence My Must Haves eyeshadow in ’24 Dare To Shine’
Matte yellow eyeshadow can be hard to come by, so when this came out it, it was a godsend. It meant you didn’t have to drop a load of dollar on an entire palette for one colour. It’s unbelievably pigmented for the price – this is definitely worth hoarding for all future festival looks.
3. Essence Get Your Glitter On! loose glitter in ‘Chameleon’
Want to sparkle but don’t fancy blowing the budget? Essence’s entire line of loose glitters surpassed everyone’s expectation when it came to longevity and wear. ‘Chameleon’ is particular fave due to the bright mix of reds, silvers and blues throughout.
4. Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume mascara
I went from being a slave to expensive mascaras to a worshipper at the temple of this mascara (thanks to the recommendation from makeup artist Grace O’Connell). No frills, no fuss – just bomb-ass, defined lashes for pittance.
5. Essence Matt Matt Matt lipgloss in ’02 Beauty Approved’ and ’08 The Big Chill’
Beauty Approved
The Big Chill
These glosses gave a beautiful demi-matte (leaning slightly more matte) finish, making them super comfortable to wear and surprisingly long wearing. (These two colours in particular could give a miss Kylie Jenner a run for her money.)
