VIDEO: Meet the animal that sparked the #EssexLion hunt*
EARLIER THIS WEEK there was terror across the fine county of Essex after reports of a lion on the loose.
Some locals reported hearing “loud roars”, while others simply took to Twitter to make cheap TOWIE jokes. Eventually the search was called off. But what sparked it all in the first place?
One resident reckons she has a pretty good idea: her cat.
The animal suffers under the name of Teddy Bear, and would thus self-evidently have good reason for pretending to be a fearsome man-eating hunter. But apart from that, Ginny Murphy of St Osyth told the BBC her moggy regularly hunts in the fields around the town where the lion was spotted. She said:
