It turns out the UK and Ireland both gave each other a decent amount of points during Eurovision
THE EUROVISION HAS come and gone and while some of us (mainly me) are still mourning Cyprus being beaten, we all must move on with our lives.
However, we do need to address one thing, the voting system. For the last couple of years, the voting system has confused the bejaysus out of everyone.
The presenters that we saw on Saturday from the 43 countries were awarding the jury vote. Then the public vote was added to that and in case you missed it, there was a bit of controversy over how many points the UK and Ireland gave each other.
Basically the UK jury gave Ireland 3 points while we gave the UK no points at all which led to a lot of jokes about the 6 counties and many more pissed off UK fans.
Well it turns out the Irish and UK public are much nicer than the juries because according to the official Eurovision website, both Ireland and the UK gave each other a whopping 10 points each. So it turns out, it was for this after all.
It turns out both Ireland and the UK really loved Lithuania as both of them gave their 12 points to them. We gave 8 points to Germany and 7 points to the Czech Republic with only 6 points going to the eventual winner Israel.
In terms of who liked us, the Aussies were big fans of Ryan giving him 8 points with Germany returning the favour and giving us 7 points as did Albania. Shoutout to tiny little San Marino who also gave us a whole 3 points.
We now let this Eurovision go with a sense of peace, the Brits arenโt really that bad, itโs just their jury.
We still canโt resist a good 6 counties joke though.
