SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY over, and for once, we can say that we had a good one.
We sat in the sun, ate ice cream, had barbeques that didn’t involve umbrellas… all the good Summery stuff you could hope for.
Now, we’re moving into autumn. So what do we have to be excited about?
Beautiful Autumn leaves
The colours are gorgeous and there’s something terribly satisfying about the crunchy sound they make under your feet.
(We’ll just ignore the fact that when they get wet and mushy they have a banana peel effect.)
Lighting the fire
The Late Late Show
Even people who hate it love to watch it. Otherwise what would they give out about?
Kids in school
You love your kids. But you love when they go to school too, don’t you?
New telly
With the new season comes new telly. There are obviously hits and misses, but with a new series of Love/Hate and a Gabriel Byrne thriller set in 1950s Dublin on the way, we’re excited.
The cinema
Blockbuster season is over, and soon we’ll be seeing Oscar contenders on the big screen.
Hooray!
Cozy pubs
Clearly enjoying the pub is a year-round activity, but there’s something extra special about being inside a cozy dimly-lit pub when it’s a little bit miserable outside
Clocks going back
An extra hour’s sleep! AN EXTRA HOUR PEOPLE!
Sport
There’s loads of it. Football and rugby are kicking back into gear, and if you’re not a sports fan you can celebrate the fact that the GAA is over!
Crisp mornings
The air just feels cleaner, somehow.
Autumn clothes
Hats, scarves, tights, and jumpers. You’re sick of shorts and t-shirts at this stage!
Halloween
Who doesn’t love a bit of fancy dress?
