Beauty Q: Do you curl your lashes before applying mascara?
FOR SOME PEOPLE, their makeup routine is regimented, precise and unshakable. It’s eyes before face and concealer before foundation, no ifs or buts.
Others maintain a more streamlined routine – essential steps to someone else are easily bypassed. Primer? Blush? Forget about it!
Another example? Curling your lashes. It seemed noughties beauty gurus curled their lashes before every #look. Now, with the increased popularity of lash extensions and a wider range of false lashes being available, the art of lash curling now seems lost.
Does it actually make a difference to your lashes, though? Is it literally just a step for the sake of having another step? Does curling actually bring infinite length?
Michelle Phan previously swore by her Shu Uemura eyelash curler, claiming that you get what you pay for when it comes to eyelash curlers (they’re about €30, FYI.)
Others swore by heating the lash curler with a hairdryer in order to maximise the curl, like you would curling your hair. (Others were fear-y about burning their eyes.) Some got mega fancy and bought curlers that HEATED UP THEMSELVES.
But listen – is curling your lashes a thing?
