IT’S A WONDERFUL time to be a makeup enthusiast. Now, the industry is more expansive than ever with plenty of choice when it comes to products, whether you’re Joe Soap or Ring Light Rita.
This is particularly true when it comes to eyeshadow. Everyday, YouTubers and Instagrammers alike are coming out with their own iterations of palettes. This week alone, YouTuber James Charles revealed his collaboration with makeup brand Morphe – a 39-pan eyeshadow palette with a brush collection to match.

Closer to home, Monaghan makeup artist Keilidh Cashell announced a full eye collection with SoSueMe’s brand SoSu by Suzanne Jackson. The collection includes a line of false lashes, a brush set and an eyeshadow palette.
And then prior to that, there was the super popular collaboration between BPerfect Cosmetics and makeup artist Stacey Marie, the Carnival palette, and Jeffree Star’s recently announced Alien palette … Honestly, the list goes on.
It’s left people (ok, maybe just me), facing a tough decision in the run up to Christmas – “which one should I get?!”
Is this a case of “be careful what you wish for”? With more choice than ever – and with many palettes beginning to look like copycats of one another – it can be hard to nail down which one will be worth purchasing (luckily, there’s a blog that can help you narrow down your dupes.)
In theory, I like eyeshadow palettes. But then you've got 10 minutes to get ready and you think, "Too many options! I just need one color!"

With a now endless list of collabs to choose from – are you over it? Or are you lapping up what the MUAs and brands are offering up? I mean, can you ever really have too many palettes?
