Was Vogue Williams too busy "getting recognised" to shoot more than five webisodes of Fade Street, Season Two? Photocall Ireland

Fade Street ladies lose TV airtime

Meanwhile, TV3 gets ready to introduce us to the cast of Tallafornia (no, we’re not kidding).

ARE YOU JUST dying to know what is happening in the lives of Louise Johnston, Dani Robinson, Cici Cavanagh and Vogue Williams?

The glamorous cast of Fade Street – RTÉ’s answer to The Hills - has not graced our TV sets since February but, fear not, the 20-somethings will be back on our screens later this month.

Well, they’ll be back on our small screens.

The programme is being bumped off RTÉ’s main schedule and will be shown on its online Player first.

Five webisodes will be uploaded to the RTÉ Player between 28 November and 8 December, while just two half-hour shows will appear on RTÉ Two’s schedule.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster said the decision was taken because the show was a particular hit with the online audience.

Acknowledging this, RTÉ is offering fans of the series the opportunity to see it first in short daily webisodes,” said the spokesperson. “The RTÉ Player first initiative allows us to reward fans with additional, supporting content and competitions which we hope will encourage fans to hold Fade Street parties and make the TV experience an event with their friends.”

This season, the series consists of two half-hour shows instead of 12 and new additions Roz Purcell and Emily MacKeogh will be introduced. That gives us just one hour to catch up on the love lives, friendships, careers, emigration plans and new-found fame of the girls and their significant others.

If you think you might come down with Fade Street withdrawal, Conor Behan is on hand with Following Fade Street which will also be aired on the RTÉ Player.

Meanwhile, TV3 is trying something similar this year to win over a share of the The Only Way Is Essex/Geordie Shore/Jersey Shore market.

Tallafornia will premiere early next year but its cast will be unleashed onto the Dublin scene next Wednesday. Watch this space!
