AT A DECEMBER wedding, for a couple who got engaged on Christmas Eve, it’d almost be rude not to incorporate some festive tunes, wouldn’t it?
Connemara couple Fiona and Fergus Folan (guys, if you decide to have children, please only choose names beginning with F) married last week in the Salthill Hotel in Galway.
As a surprise for the couple, bridesmaid Tríona Ní Chualáin adapted Fairytale of New York for her speech, taking in the couple’s meeting, engagement, and er, love for Fair City:
The speech went down a treat with the attendees, as you can hear, and the video has picked up a over 7,000 views on YouTube since it was posted earlier this week.
And with lyrics like these, who could be surprised?
And then they set the date, Fiona told me to lose weight
I turned my face away, and dreamed of takeaway
