Two guys faked an axe murder in front of the Google Street View car

… and accidentally sparked a police investigation.

TWO MEN HAVE sparked a police investigation after staging an axe-murder scene as the Google Street View car passed by.

A member of the public called police in Edinburgh after discovering what appeared to be a brutal attack while browsing Street View, the Independent reports.

However, it turned out to be two car mechanics who happened to spot the Google car approaching along the city’s Giles Street.

Dan Thompson, who played the corpse, told the Independent:

It was in the spur of the moment. It seemed like the obvious thing to do so I threw myself on the ground and Gary grabbed a pick-axe handle from the garage.

“The obvious thing to do,” indeed. Indeed.
