The weed hat farmer from last night's news has thrown the hat "into the fire"
LAST NIGHT, LAOIS farmer William ‘Willie’ Wallace from Crettyard became a viral sensation after he appeared on the early evening news in some eye-catching headgear.
Unaware of the stir he was causing up and down the country, Willie was commenting from Carlow mart on some IFA business.
This morning, the intrepid Eimear Ní Bhraonáin from KCLR tracked Wallace down to quiz him on his hat choice, and what he was planning to do with the intriguing item.
She got to him too late though. Not only did Willie not want anything more to do with talk of the hat, he had thrown it on the fire.
He did, however, have a lot to say about a topic close to his heart: a museum he runs from his home in Laois. “We have butter churns, old bicycles and all sorts” he told KCLR.
The hat could have been the star attraction though, Willie. A missed opportunity.
