Kathy Griffin quit the Fashion Police with this lengthy Twitter rant
COMEDIAN KATHY GRIFFIN has quit the celebrity style show the Fashion Police, just months after accepting the role.
Griffin replaced Joan Rivers in the main hosting seat after her death in September. However, after hosting just seven episodes, Griffin posted a resignation spiel to Twitter claiming that she doesn’t want to use her comedy to contribute to “a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference”.
She says her comedy is ‘all about context’, and would rather make fun of pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it. She made the decision to leave after she discovered that her style does “not fit in with the creative direction of the show”.
Her celebrity pals were out in force to support her decision.

An E! rep told The Hollywood Reporter that they “wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all”.
They also noted that Fashion Police ”will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30 at 9 p.m. with our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski and executive producer Melissa Rivers”.
Her resignation comes weeks after Kelly Osbourne quit the show following a controversial remark Giuliana Rancic made about actress Zendaya’s hair. Rancic publicly apologised for the joke, in which she said the actress’ dreadlocks looked as though she smelled like ‘patchouli oil and weed’.
Kelly quit the show after people began tweeting abuse at her, but never directly said it was as a result of the comments.
Kathy said of the spat at the time that she wouldn’t have said the joke if it was written for her.
She offered this advice to her colleague:
