WE ALL KNOW that First Dates Ireland is the best First Dates.
So far, the show has been produced in Australia, Canada, and its native UK. But again, none come close to Ireland.
But shock, horror, Americans have got their hands on it

What’s with that voice over? It sounds like a blockbuster trailer.
They actually have to preface the fact that there are “no gimmicks, or eliminations”
Their tag line:
Just two souls, in a restaurant, full of first dates, searching, for an honest connection.
What should be our tag line:
Two banter merchants wanting to get on de telly and meet someone who their parents haven’t already tried to set them up with.
The first episode is out on Friday, April 7, and DREW BARRYMORE is narrating

It was filmed in Chicago, and will have eight episodes in the first series.
The whole thing looks… intense
To be fair, dating comes more naturally to Americans, AND they have a much bigger dating pool.
Well, in the sense that they don’t usually have about ten friends in common with the first person they meet in college, and dating doesn’t equal a drunken shift in a dark nightclub.
So, is this the beginning of the end?
Oh, we’ll be watching.
