HAPPY NATIONAL FISH and chips day.
What a time to be alive. Today, it’s basically your civic duty to get fish and chips from one of our fine chippers, for lunch or dinner. To celebrate, certain chippers are giving out half price fish and chips. You can find the full list of participants here, but we’ve picked out some of the must-haves.
1. Libero’s, Deansgrange, Dublin
If you like your fish with some extra crisp and absolutely drenched in salt and vinegar, Liberio’s is your only man.
2. Roma, Rathfarnham, Dublin
Located on the Marian Road, this little chipper makes some of the finest fish and chips on the Southside. If you like your chips on the softer side, this is the place to be.
3. Presto, Ringsend, Dublin
If you’re looking for a late fish and chips, get to Presto. It’s sensational.
4. Tony’s Cafe, Connaught Street, Birr
5. Macari’s, Glasnevin, Dublin
The best of the Macari’s, from someone who has tried every Macari’s run chipper in Dublin. The chips and batter is just perfection, and the cod will melt in your mouth.
6. Enzo’s, William Street, Limerick
It’s like they’ve invented a completely new method of making batter, and the chips are the chunkiest you’ll get in Limerick.
7. Angelo’s, Banagher, Offaly
Officially Offaly’s finest, well, according to us.
8. Capri Grill, Naas, Kildare
Know by some as The Kip, the food is anything but kippy.
9. Sam’s, Leixlip, Kildare
Sma’s have fed many a hungry boozer in Lexlip, but the fish and chips are just as tasty sober. Prepare for LASHINGS of vinegar.
