EastEnders has revealed the truth about that Ballymena GAA jersey

Nancy Carter’s Friday night fashion sparked quite the debate online.

THE PEOPLE OF Ireland couldn’t believe it when they spotted what appeared to be a GAA jersey on EastEnders last Friday night.

“What on earth was a GAA top doing in the Queen Vic?”, they wondered.

Was Nancy Carter a secret fan of Gaelic games? Did Walford have a team we never knew about?

Was this, in fact, a multi-purpose piece of sports kit from St. Patrick’s College in Ballymena, Co. Antrim?

DailyEdge.ie just had to know what the story was, so we got in touch with the BBC and asked for an explanation.

Here’s what an official EastEnders spokesperson had to say about it:

“The top which Nancy Carter wore on Friday night’s episode is a school PE kit which was purchased from a vintage shop. As all EastEnders viewers will know, the character of Nancy Carter is a tomboy and wears a huge range of sports wear which she chooses for the way it looks not because she has any allegiance to any sport or club.”

So, the official line is that it’s not a GAA jersey.

It’s just a bit of old PE kit from a vintage shop.
