Pics: Who's been kissing Gabriel Byrne?

Someone, perhaps ‘of a certain age’, has planted a lipstick kiss on the Irish actor who has hit the headlines in recent days for bad-mouthing a government initiative.

GABRIEL BYRNE HAS been creating headlines in recent days with his epic smackdown of The Gathering project that the government is currently trying to publicise across the globe.

Describing the biggest tourism initiative in the history of the State as a “scam”, Byrne drew praise in some quarters but criticism in others particularly from government ministers who are trying to spread the message of diaspora and all of that.

Transport and Tourism Minister Leo Varadkar even had a pop when he said that Byrne, a former cultural ambassador for Ireland, was popular with “women of a certain age”.

And it appears ‘a woman of a certain age’ may have planted a kiss on The Usual Suspects actor’s portrait in Dublin airport.

Byrne’s face is one of an exhibition of 250 large portraits of Irish people of all ages and backgrounds and is among the first sights to greet passengers at Terminal 2.

But as far as we know he is the only one to have got a lipstick smacker:
