Gallery: How Ryan Tubridy's BBC debut went down with listeners
YESTERDAY SAW LATE Late Show host Ryan Tubridy make his long-awaited debut on BBC radio, standing in for Graham Norton during the summer.
The three-hour show saw our Ryan interview Andrea Corr and Tony Blair’s former spin doctor Alastair Campbell, as well as playing some music. The 37-year-old had admitted to the Irish Independent beforehand: “It’s all very large and exciting but I feel like a nervous wreck. I can’t tell you how worried I am.”
But the show – which also saw Ryan educate listeners on the proper pronunciation of his surname – went off without a hitch, giving UK radio fans their first taste of Tubs. It was also broadcast in Ireland on RTÉ’s 2XM digital station.
