GEORGE R.R. MARTIN shared a #TBT photo on Twitter yesterday and there’s a lot to unpack.

Firstly the fact that in 2017, this could be considered a pretty solid look. Tidy up his hair a tiny bit and he could be serving you a €4 vegan flat white at a zine launch in Wigwam.

He looks like a guy who hangs around at house nights, refusing to shut up about what it’s like to be in a K-hole. Maybe if he lost the medallion and the flares, George could have led a pretty successful life in 2017 as a barista who DJs on weeknights.

Secondly, the furniture, much like the furniture we’ve all seen in family photos and felt ill at the sight of, would probably sell for a fortune nowadays if a shop in Powerscourt got their hands on them.

But finally, an observation that most fans made about the photo was the fact that he looked like Jon Snow.

We can kind of see it, however, it’s pretty apparent that Jon Snow never experienced the comforts of a floral couch in the 1970′s.
