SORRY TO BRING up Garthgate again.
But hey, we should be able to talk about it now. It’s been two years!
The man himself did a Facebook live session yesterday and brought up the incident, which saw five Croke Park dates cancelled due to licensing issues. When asked, “Is there any place you haven’t performed yet that you want to perform at?”
Uh oh. He replied:
I’ve been lucky to perform in a lot of places, I don’t think ever get to all the places I want to play . The main ingredient is the sincerity of the people that want to hear it, that’s what it’s all about.
There’s a place yet I haven’t played that I played before, if this makes any sense. Dublin, Ireland. How can I say it any more than that?
Crush your heart you didn’t get to play it again, I’d love to play there again.
He starts talking about Ireland at about 12 minutes in:
Oh, here we go.
Garth recently compared the Garthgate saga to this loss of his mother, when speaking to Billboard magazine:
I can tell you, next to losing my mom, that might have been the hardest day ever for me in music. That’s how much it hurt. I just don’t get it. To this day I scratch my head. I cannot figure this one out.
