Here's a Vine of Gay Byrne's wedding 50 years ago today

GAY BYRNE AND Kathleen Watkins are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.

The big day captivated Ireland in 1964, with RTÉ News cameras in attendance and more than a thousand people turning up to wish Gaybo well.

Look at the big happy head on him! Not to mention the flowing and luxuriant hair.

Gaybo was 29 years young when they tied the knot in Saggart, south Dublin. He’d already been presenting the Late Late Show for two years.
