GEMMA COLLINS’ RISE to the top has been a bit of an unpredictable one, hasn’t it?
Initially entering the public eye as a bit player in The Only Way Is Essex, Gemma worked hard to establish herself as her own tour de force.
In order to fully appreciate where she is now, let’s examine where she came from.
Before ever appearing on the show, Gemma enjoyed the arts – attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School, with the likes of Rita Ora and Amy Winehouse.
(We can’t actually confirm if they attended around the same time, but that’s hardly relevant).
But we’d imagine that’s where she earned her ‘divaship’, as mentioned in the following.
Gemma also previously moonlighted as a car salesperson.
She even very nearly closed a deal on a BMW for co-star Kirk Norcross.
That was, until his dad surprised him with a Range Rover.
She knows her stuff though – and is a big fan of privacy glass, it seems.
With that, Gemma began her ascent to stardom.
TOWIE propelled her to new heights, allowing to leave behind that new car smell in favour of a different career path – fashion design.
A total fash-hun, she’s most recently been establishing herself as a bit of a player in the style stakes.
This outfit from July – a nude number with prominent shoulder pads – certainly got tongues wagging.
Our Gemma’s got thick skin though:
“I loved that dress – I wanted to express myself that night and I did exactly that.
I can take the mick out of myself so whatever anyone has got to say about me I still find it funny. I even loved the memes.’
Not content with dominating the world of fashion, Gemma wrote a best-selling book.
An autobiography, naturally
She’s been brutally honest about her personal journey with her weight.
But she’s also been a serious role model when it comes to body confidence – just look at her laying into ex-boyfriend Arg while serving body-ody-ody.
Devil in a pink sarong.
Miss GC knows her worth, that’s for sure.
Unsurprising, considering the gal is making absolute BANK.
The gal’s also got some serious vocal talent.
Coming for Rihanna’s crown in more ways than one. Get it girl!
She’s also a stan for literature – most notably, the dictionary
Gemma is an old romantic too.
Remember when she made her old flame Mick a pie to show him how much she appreciated him?
Hope he enjoyed it, anyway.
And she’s not afraid to spell out what she needs in a man
Never change, GC.
