Al Pavangkanan Al Pavangkanan
A GEORGE HARRISON memorial tree in Los Angeles is being replanted due to an unwelcome, but apt infestation…
Beetles.
The LA Times reports that the pine tree, which is located in Griffith Park (located at the eastern end of the Santa Monica mountains) has died because of the insect problem.
A new tree will now be planted, ten years after the original was put in place.
Harrison, who died in 2001, lived out his last days in LA, and a plaque placed at the site of the tree memorial reads:
The plaque also features a quote from Harrison:
Visitors to the site have noticed that the tree was removed.
Whoops!
