Gingerfest is go...

Red-haired people of Ireland, unite! Charity day Gingerfest 2011 wants fiery-headed types to help them raise money for Unicef.

GINGERFEST – IT’S NOT our word, it’s theirs. Red-haired fun-seekers are being called on by the organisers of Gingerfest 2011 to celebrate their hair colour on March 12.

You don’t even have to have red hair to take part – fiery-locked wigs can be purchased on the day with all funds raised going to children’s organisation Unicef. There is a special event at Dax Bar in Dublin from 4.30pm on the day – and of course, a prize for the most ridiculous/best costume.

Tickets are €20 per (red) head – you can buy them online at the Unicef Ireland site. If you feel so inclined,  you can also ‘like’ their ‘Ireland should have a day to celebrate ginger people’ page on Facebook. As for us here at TheJournal.ie, we’re already trying out our best Bosco wigs.
