EARLIER THIS WEEK, it emerged that Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston are officially a thing. The internet christened them “Swiddleston” and we haven’t looked back since.
While the coupling seemingly came out of nowhere, it turns out that one Taylor Swift devotee actually predicted the romance years ago.
In December 2014, a fanfiction author by the name of jenniiiichristine published a story called Wildest Dreams. What’s Wildest Dreams about, you ask? All about Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift bumping into one another at the Met Gala and having a night of passion.

Before we had to exit the building and go back to the red carpet to leave, Tom made a proposition. He stood in front of me and closed the distance, leaning in so his lips were hovering just above my ear, his hand on the small of my back. His small touch like this—his hot breath on my ear—was all electric, to say the least. “Taylor, I don’t know about you, but I don’t want tonight to end. I’ve had such a…marvelous time with you. Would you maybe…?” And he paused, obviously having an inward battle with himself on whether or not he had the audacity to ask what was coming next.

So how did the author put the two together? She explained on Tumblr that she discovered Tom Hiddleston back in 2014 and figured he would be a perfect match for Swift.
When I learned about him loving 80s music, singing, dancing, and how positive he is I was like MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN LET’S COMBINE MY TWO FAVES INTO ONE
She turned to Google to figure out how the two might conceivably cross paths and BOOM.
So I literally did one Google search. ONE GOOGLE SEARCH. Just to see what event the both would attend since they’re in 2 different fields of work, plus I wanted my research to actually make sense. Hence how I chose the Met Gala since it could literally be the ONLY POSSIBLE EVENT that their paths could ever potentially cross IRL.
And lo and behold…
Someone has psychic powers, eh?
