Man who founded 'glitter to your enemies' company is selling it in desperation

Mat Carpenter begged potential customers to stop ordering, because he was so inundated.

MAT CARPENTER, THE 22-year-old Australian man who founded a company offering to send glitter anywhere in the world is begging people not to use his service.

In fact, he’s put the company up for sale.

Earlier this week Carpenter told TheJournal.ie that he had had to halt orders because he couldn’t keep up with demand.

Actually, he seemed a little browned off.

Now the company is up for sale on Flippa.com, with the highest of 329 bids bringing the price up to over $61,000.

Carpenter says:

After being online for only a few hours, the website had received over 2,000 orders generating just over $20,000AUD. Somewhat overwhelmed, I then decided to take the ability to order down despite receiving thousands of emails & tweets from people wanting to purchase.

He says he’s been inundated with offers from third parties offering to provide the mailing service, the glitter, the envelopes etc.

But, he’s done.

I launched this website as a bit of a joke not expecting this level of attention. Heck, I launched this website whilst I was on holiday! For the past few days it has been stressful dealing with all of the media attention & even more so because this was only intended to be a small side project. It’s taken on a life of its own, and I want to watch it continue to grow under a new owner.
