God Bless Amercia. Mitt Romney app gaffe has the Internet laughing
IT’S BEEN A busy week for Mitt Romney.
First up, he effectively secured the GOP nomination so he can go head-to-head with Barack Obama in this year’s Presidential Election. Second, he got his very own iPhone app.
The app’s 14 banners, ranging from ‘I’m a Mom for Mitt’ or ‘I stand with Mitt’, were always going to be ripe for parody – even without a glaring misspelling of the name of the country he wants to run. But it didn’t take the Internet long to discover that one of the app’s photos was calling for ‘A Better Amercia’, giving the meme-makers even more fodder.
The app is now fixed but this is the Internet…a simple screengrab means nothing really goes away without a trending Twitter hashtag, a Tumblr and a funny YouTube video.

The hilarious typo also earned a tip of the hat from Stephen Colbert on his nightly show. He was so happy about the gaffe he made up his own anthem for the country of Amercia:
