Gogglebox Ireland starts tonight - Here's what we know
GOGGLEBOX IRELAND IS finally on the way. But what can we expect?
1. It starts TONIGHT
YAS.
2. The narrators are Deirdre Kane and Rory Cowan
Comedian Deirdre O’Kane from Moone Boy, and actor Rory from Mrs Browns Boys will be taking narration duties, which was made memorable by the late Caroline Aherne on the British version.
Deirdre will narrate most of the series, with Rory stepping in for episode five.
Brian McEvoy Brian McEvoy
3. There will be twelve episodes
And we can expect to see groups from Dublin, Kildare, Navan, Cork and Wicklow.
4. One of the families is a group of pals from Cabra
Jamie, Linsday, Ashley and Grainne are all reality TV addicts and they love a Friday night in in front of the box with a bottle of wine. Sounds just like us.
TV3 TV3
Lindsay and Ashley are sisters, with childhood friends Jamie and Grainne an extension of the family.
5. A pair of Polish pals make up the second couple
Szymon and Aga are living in Tallaght and have been best mates since they met in college 16 years ago.
Aga has been living in Ireland since 2004, and Szymon moved in 2007 after he arrived for Halloween and loved it so much, he never left.
6. The third family are from Athy
The Gruffertys, Laura, Des, and their daughter Danielle, aged 12, make up the last of the announced families.
Laura owns a hair salon while Des stays home and minds the kids and their two Jack Russell dogs.
7. The next household is two twin brothers from Cavan
Identical twins Fergal and Neal Tully claim to speak to each other more than their own wives and they’re both mad for sports.
Don’t expect them to be too fond of the reality shows, so.
8. Finally, we have Angela and Eileen from Castleknock
These best friends met in a retirement club, and love the likes of Midsomer Murders, Come Dine With Me, Miss Marple and Ear to the Ground. They’re not fond of reality shows.
Amazing.
9. It will air every Thursday at 9.30pm
Excited.
