BY ALL ACCOUNTS, Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh did a fairly good job hosting the Golden Globes this year. (And all they had to do was not tweet homophobic obscenities beforehand! Crazy, I know.)
Their opening monologue for the ceremony was filled to the brim with jokes and “roasts”, (Oh said Bradley Cooper was hot – sick burn there), as well as surprising audience members with free flu shots. Yeah, not sure what the story was there.
Highlights include, but are not limited to, Samberg’s quip about social media while talking ‘Black Panther’ and politics: “The world is and has always been a nightmare, it just seems worse now because of our phones.”
I can’t believe Andy Samberg actually called out the US government for the assassination of members of the Black Panther party whilst hosting the Golden Globes, but he did and it was incredible. pic.twitter.com/2ULcEgqEIy

Peep the ‘Time’s Up’ wristband he wore on the red carpet too.
Best.
Meanwhile, Oh was breaking hearts all over the gaff with the Korean shoutout she gave her parents in the audience. (Oh took home the award for best lead female in a television drama – the first Asian woman in 40 years to win.)
“Mostly, there are two people here tonight that I am so grateful that they are here with me. I’d like to thank my mother, my father,” she said.
Oh added “엄마! 아빠! 사랑해요” (which translates to “I love you, mom and dad” according to Vulture), and bowed to her parents as they did the same back. Bawling.

Understandably, the internet fell in love with the pair.
But what did you think? Can you count yourself as a fan of the pair after their hosting duties?
