Gossip Girl is 10 years old - here's what the cast are doing with themselves in 2017

XOXO, Gossip Girl

IT MIGHT SEEM hard to believe, but Gossip Girl turns 10 years old this year.

The gloriously trashy television series followed the exploits of preposterously posh teenagers from Manhattan, introduced the world to Blake Lively, and made a whole generation of teens wish their parents would send them to an upmarket private school.

But what are the cast at these days? Let’s take a gander.

Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey)

Since Gossip Girl ended in 2012, Penn Badgley has taken a step back from acting and channeled his creative impulses into music. These days, he’s the lead singer of a band named MOTHXR and known to sport a man bun on the regular.

He recently got married to Domino Kirke. You may know her sisters Jemima Kirke (Jessa in Girls) and Lola Kirke. For her part, Domino is a musician and doula.

Together they make for a very handsome couple.

Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf)

Leighton Meester went quiet after Gossip Girl, opting to star in a few forgettable indies and try her hand at music. She now stars in the time travel sitcom Making History alongside Adam Pally.

Offscreen, she got married to The OC’s Adam Brody (I know!) in 2014. They welcomed a daughter named Arlo Day in 2015. Seth Colen and Blair Waldorf – what a collision, eh?

Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen)

By far the most famous person to emerge from Gossip Girl. Since the show tragically ended in 2012, Blake Lively has been busy establishing herself as a bona fide star.

She’s starred in tons of movies, including 2016′s sleeper hit The Shallows. She launched a lifestyle blog called Preserve that subsequently bust. She married man of the moment Ryan Reynolds. She named her daughter James!

She’s a true ~celebrity~. Here she is geeking out about meeting Eleven.

Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass)

Otherwise known as everyone’s problematic teenage crush.

Ed Westwick currently stars alongside Rupert Grint in Snatch, a television series about geezers and hustlers. Westwick plays an “unstable local crime lord”. He’s also due to star in an Essex sitcom called White Gold from the creators of The Inbetweeners.

When he’s not busy acting, Ed loves to post photos of him at the gym, at the pool or on the beach. He loves a good pose does our Ed.

Jessica Szohr (Vanessa Abrams)

Over the past few years, Szohr has starred in two television shows – a medical drama called Complications and an MMA drama called Kingdom. According to IMDb, she will next star in the highly anticipated Twin Peaks reboot.

Over on Instagram, Szohr’s bio reads, “Smile laugh love”. Interesting philosophy. Never heard it before.

Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald)

Since Gossip Girl concluded, Chace Crawford… hasn’t been up to a whole lot. He starred in a soap opera called Blood and Oil, which was canceled after a few episodes. Next up, he will appear in the third season of the Hulu comedy Casual.

Here’s a photo of him sniffing an orange.

Here’s a photo of him with his nephew on his shoulder. Fun fact: his sister Candice Crawford is married to NFL star Tony Romo.

So now.

Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey)

Once a key star of Gossip Girl, Momsen dramatically left the show in 2011 to focus on her music. Since then, she has been… focusing on her music and continues to perform with her band The Pretty Reckless.

Dan and Jenny both in music – who would have thought?

Kelly Rutherford (Lily van der Woodsen)

Also known as Serena’s Mam.

Rutherford has kept a low profile career-wise save for a few cameo appearances here and there. Instead she’s found herself embroiled in a brutal custody battle with her ex that drove her to bankruptcy. (She lost the custody battle and her children now live in Monaco with their father.)

So now.

Matthew Settle (Rufus Humphrey)

Matt Settle has had a relatively uneventful few years since Gossip Girl. His Instagram is full of photos of him and his family. He seems to really love his wife and children.

Fair play, Rufus.

Connor Paolo (Eric van der Woodsen)

You may remember him as Serena’s little brother. After Gossip Girl, he landed a starring role in Revenge – remember Revenge? – before being killed off in the second season.

These days, Paolo is channeling his efforts into resisting President Donald Trump and his administration. His Instagram is full of photos of him protesting at airports and visiting Standing Rock, North Dakota. He’s also a big fan of Bernie Sanders.

The more you know, eh?
