THE AHAKISTA AUGUST Festival is something that is very important to the people of Sheep’s Head peninsula down in West Cork. The event takes place every August during the bank holiday weekend and is usually filled with fun.
For the past few years, Graham Norton has hosted a table quiz on the Friday night which is one of the most popular events of the festival. This year proceeds of the quiz is going to the West Cork Rapid Response which is a fantastic cause.
As we all know you can’t have a table quiz without a raffle and make no mistake, Ahakista hasn’t held out on us at all. Whoever gets first prize will win two tickets to the Graham Norton Show which sounds like a great way to spend an evening.
However, it’s second prize that has really caught our eye.
Second prize is a four-course meal cooked by the local priest, Father Galvin.
So the @grahnort-hosted quiz is happening again in Ahakista, Cork on Aug 3rd.

What can you win in the quiz?
I'm glad you asked!
First prize: tickets to the @grahnort show.
Second prize: dinner made for you for a priest.
Oh, Ireland.

Yep.
Even the local parish priest, Fr Galvin, is getting in on the act by sponsoring a heavenly four course gourmet feast that he will prepare and serve himself mathced with his best wines.”
Firstly, there is some great pun usage there so well done to all involved. Secondly, I feel if more priests were offering to make gourmet meals, a lot more people would be turning up to Mass.
Tickets for the event went on sale on Saturday 2nd June and it seems people were testing out their culinary skills in the queue for tickets. Flattery won’t get you anywhere lads.
And so the annual queue for the @grahnort tickets at @ahakistarf begins! And we even have #Clonakilty sausages for sustenance. #westcorklife pic.twitter.com/dMG6w51DdH

All joking aside, it sounds like it’s going to be a very fun event for a great cause and we look forward to the five-star review that Father Galvin will no doubt get from whoever wins this prize.
